Entering Punjab

After driving for almost 8 hours we noticed the end of tall, date palm trees, the sign of Sindh and spotted the wide, green farms at a distance, the sign of entering Punjab.  That city was Sadiqabad.  During that whole day long and pleasant journey through the green province, we passed by Raheem Yar Khan, Multan, then many small cities, Karanda, Muzaffar Garh, Mianwali, Tilla Kung, Hasan Abdal, Chakwal and Islamabad

We ate dinner at 5 p.m. in Karachi and it was 6 a.m.  Our driver, Iqbal Bhai the man from Swat, was not willing to stop for any food break, just because he was driving too fast.  Finally, we had to force him to launch his shuttle at a rest house at the end of Raheem Yaar Khan.  It was 12:30 p.m.  We found ourselves lucky to eat Masoor ki Daal and roti after being hungry for 19 hours.  The food was really delicious.  It must have been the hottest day as we were out for 15 minutes and we felt our head burning already.  The two washrooms for  were too far from the rest house, had low walls and no roof.  It was a large building with nature all around but was missing beauty, means cleanliness.

We resumed our journey after 1 p.m. for another 7 hours.
The view of Namal College, founded by Imran Khan, from the top mountain route, with a lake beside it, was spectaculous.  The rest of the path till motorway was all up and down along with hills and farms.  I loved the speed control system on motorway.
